Forget all of the reports stating Eagles quarterback Michael Vick won't play in Week 6 versus the Buccaneers; Vick pretty much confirmed as much on Tuesday. Vick said his pulled hamstring is still "tender" in some areas, and he has faith that his backup, Nick Foles, will do just fine in his stead.
"It's kind of disheartening when you can't be out there and playing," Vick said. "But the good thing is we've got a good backup who will be able to step in and do a great job with this team, and we've got a lot of players who believe in themselves and each other."
If there is some encouraging news on the Vick front, it's that he went through individual drills during Tuesday's practice and said he was "very surprised" how well he was able to move around and throw with needed velocity.
Vick is not a quick healer, so he might miss a couple of weeks because of this injury. Foles has a tough matchup against the Bucs and is just a mid-range QB2. His lack of mobility hurts him in Chip Kelly's offense. You are still starting LeSean McCoy and DeSean Jackson , who spiced up his upcoming matchup against Darrelle Revis with some challenging words Tuesday.
