Somehow, it just keeps getting worse for David Wilson and his fantasy owners. Today's punch to the gut is a report from Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News. A source has told him that Wilson's neck injury is disc-related, and another source said "the Giants believe Wilson will likely be out several weeks."
That timetable is definitely not concrete. Wilson will receive a second opinion on his neck next week in Los Angeles. Yet another source told Vacchiano that "with treatment, this thing could settle down in a couple of weeks." But of course, there's a chance the doctor could tell Wilson next week that he not only needs treatement, but surgery.
For now, Wilson is considered week to week by head coach Tom Coughlin, and Brandon Jacobs and Da'Rel Scott will handle the backfield. I wouldn't drop Wilson until we hear that he is for sure going to be out for a very long time. This Giants' offense is going to be incredibly pass-heavy for the rest of the season. That could mean more mixed-bag stats from Eli Manning, but Victor Cruz , Hakeem Nicks, and Rueben Randle would all get a bump in value.
