It is pretty much assumed that Eagles quarterback Michael Vick won't play Sunday because of his strained hamstring. Head coach Chip Kelly considers him a game-time decision, but everyone else considers Nick Foles to be the team's starter against the Buccaneers. But Vick's full practice on Friday hinted that his absence may be of the one-week variety. However, Vick's words Saturday hint toward a different story.
"Right now, still working to get back to it -- get to 100 percent, you know," Vick told Derrick Gunn of Comcast SportsNet Philadelphia. "So, it's going to be a long road."
Despite some encouraging progress toward the end of the week, the "long road" reference makes you wonder if Vick will miss more than just Week 6. It wouldn't be surprising since Vick is not a quick healer. Nick Foles is a worthy QB2 for as long as he is starting. I don't think Philadelphia's offense will run quite as smoothly without Vick, but Foles definitely won't torpedo DeSean Jackson 's value.
