Redskins QB Robert Griffin III thinks he needs to run more

If you attribute Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin's 77 rushing yards last week -- more than his season total to that point -- to his surgically repaired knee feeling better, he would disagree with you. According to Brian McNally of the Washington Times, Griffin doesn't think the yardage came from improve health, just more chances. And Griffin said Wednesday that he needs to run even more to help the Redskins win games.
Of course, more runs by Griffin mean more hits delivered to Griffin. But don't expect him to be looking for the sidelines every time he scrambles from the pocket.
"Everybody wants me to slide and get out of bounds and do that whole thing," Griffin said. "For me, I can't really listen to that. It's not that you ignore it. I understand that people are concerned. But at the end of the day you have to go out there and play with your instincts."

Fantasy Analysis:

No matter what RG3 says, it was clear from the start of last week's game that his knee is definitely feeling better. On the Redskins' first offensive snap, he ran around left end for 15 yards and looked more spry that at any point earlier in the season. Later on during that first drive, he called his own number with a quarterback draw up the middle, deep in the red zone. It's clear that he feels more comfortable running the ball, and his coaches feel more comfortable letting him run. Griffin should improve as his knee continues to strengthen. His accuracy has been down in the past couple of weeks, but that should revert back to normal soon. Griffin is in line to have a huge second half of the season, and he has a great schedule to boot. According to FFToolbox's strength of schedule chart, Griffin has the second-easiest fantasy schedule among quarterbacks in his remaining games.
But maybe, if you have a spot open on your bench, pick up Kirk Cousins @KirkCousins8, Griffin's "handcuff," just to be safe.
