Dallas Cowboys running back DeMarco Murray and linebacker/defensive end DeMarcus Ware are both listed as doubtful for Week 7's game against the Philadelphia Eagles. Neither player was able to practice at all this week. Backups Joseph randle and Phillip Tanner will likely split carries in place of Murray. Second-year DE Kyle Wilber is next in line behind Ware.
The Cowboys defense ranks just outside the Top 10 with 17 sacks, four of which have been contributed by Ware. Losing a quarter of your pass rush won't be easy to replace in the short term. Murray is likely the bigger loss. The former Sooners back was on pace for a career-best season across the board. Replacing the yards and the threat of the run could reduce the effectiveness of the play-action pass. Point being, Murray's absence could cause a small trickle-down effect that hurts all Cowboys players to some degree. Not that you should bench Tony Romo or Dez Bryant , just another thing to keep in mind.
