After admitting he had been playing through pain, Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Cecil Shorts told reporters he will "definitely" play Sunday against the 49ers. The 25-year-old receiver is dealing with a clavicle injury (previously described as an SC joint sprain).
Shorts played last week against San Diego with the same injury and came out of it relatively unscathed and no worse for wear. This week against the 49ers might be a different story, at least when considering the matchup. San Francisco eighth best defense in the league and allowing the 10th-fewest fantasy points to WRs so they're slightly above-average. Points might be difficult to come by since the 49ers have only allowed two WR TDs in their last six contests. If Shorts plays, he remains a good WR2, especially with all that garbage time available to him. If he doesn't play, look for Justin Blackmon to see about 20 targets (slight exaggeration, but I wouldn't be surprised).
