The doctors have cleared quarterback Blaine Gabbert to play, but the Jaguars aren't interested. Jacksonville will stick with QB Chad Henne for another week in Sunday's game against San Francisco. The former Michigan Wolverine has yet to lead Jacksonville to a win, has more than double the INTs to TDs (5:2), yet that's still apparently more promising than Gabbert.
If you own Justin Blackmon and/or Cecil Shorts , this is good news. The Jags are the league's top doormat and the only 0-7 team in the league. This does lead to a lot of garbage time though and that's when Blackmon and Shorts can shine. Thinking long-term though, the Jags will have to wait until the 2014 NFL Draft to potentially find a new quarterback. It could be Johnny Manziel, Teddy Bridgewater, or maybe even Marcus Mariota. In any case, Henne has yet to throw multiple TDs in a single game so he has no business being on anyone's roster.
