Patriots WR Danny Amendola practices, RB Shane Vereen close to return

New England Patriots wide receiver Danny Amendola @DannyAmendola practiced Wednesday after recovering from a brutal concussion suffered back in Week 6. A clear week of practice will get him back on the field this week. Another player nearing a return although not yet back at practice is running back Shane Vereen @ShaneVereen34. Head coach Bill Belichick described Vereen's status as day-to-day although he cannot play a snap until Week 11.

Fantasy Analysis:

Vereen will retake his old job from Brandon Bolden @BB_HulkSmash once he returns, so there isn't much to worry about there. If Vereen is available, add him right now. As for Amendola, at this point it would be a welcome sight for him to just string together a few games without getting hurt again, let alone post big numbers. Amendola can perform like a more-than-capable WR2 if healthy in this offense, unfortunately, he's been testing that if far too often. Only start him if you have no other obvious options, preferably in PPR formats.

I will never have Danny "Mr. Glass" Amendola on another of my fantasy teams, ever. I've been burned by his fragile body two years in a row now.

Agreed. Guy is made out of porcelain.

Much of the same can be said of Vereen. He's missed multiple games in each of his years and has two good games to his credit: A play-off game last year, and one 100+ combined yardage game in Week 1 this year. If Amendola is made of porcelain, Vereen may be made of balsa wood.
