Cowboys running back DeMarco Murray could play this weekend against the Lions, and he got off to a good start in making that happen by going through limited practice Wednesday. Murray was in pads and took the first-team snaps during the media-allowed portion of practice, according to ESPN Dallas' Todd Archer. Murray suffered a Grade 2 MCL sprain in his left knee back in Week 6. Rookie Joseph Randle started in place of an inactive Murray last week.
We'll keep you updated on Murray's status throughout the week. The Cowboys aren't going to rush him; Randle looked serviceable enough in a full-time role against the Eagles. But the return of Murray would be a noticeable upgrade to Dallas' run game. He is a solid RB2 if he plays at full strength versus the Lions.
