It's looking less likely Green Bay Packers wide receiver James Jones will be ready to play in Week 8. He did not practice Thursday and has told reporters it's unlikely he'll be ready in time. Second-year WR Jarrett Boykin played in his absence last week and posted good numbers. Jones shouldn't be expected to play until Week 9.
Green Bay already proved they can win without him so this isn't a big loss, but these injuries are adding up. Randall Cobb is already out for most of the rest of the season, perhaps all of it. Jermichael Finley might never even play football again judging by yesterday's reports. Finally, Jones is out another week and the Packers will have to call on young guys like TE Andrew Quarless and the aforementioned Boykin to step up right now. Boykin is a hot waiver commodity and as he should be when considering the potency of this offense.
