Bucs RB Doug Martin out two to eight weeks

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Doug Martin @DougMartin22 will be out anywhere from two weeks to two months with a torn labrum. The team remains very mum on pertinent details except neither the player nor the coaching staff believe he will be out for the season. It appears the Bucs will monitor his status over the next two weeks and decide then whether to shut him down or determine a timetable for his return.

Fantasy Analysis:

This whole thing doesn't make a lot of sense. Martin and the Bucs seem to be the only people in the nation who believe he isn't out for the year. In any case, this means fantasy owners will have to retain Martin indefinitely until something official is released to the public. Martin was already having a disappointing second season. The former Boise State runner was averaging just 3.6 yards per carry on 127 carries and tallied just a single touchdown. It may be for his own benefit to just shut him down until next year with nothing to play for in the immediate future. New started Mike James performed relatively well against a tough Carolina run defense. He totaled 64 yards and added four receptions. Not bad for a rookie in his first game.

on NFL.coms FantasyLive segment they said that "Martin was eyeing a wk10 return." But does make sense to place him on IR for the year.
