Texans RB Ben Tate won't be 100-percent rest of season

Houston Chronicle writer John McClain (Die Hard?) wrote a piece suggesting his skepticism that running back Ben Tate @BenTateRB would be 100-percent at any point during the remainder of this season. The former Auburn back has multiple broken ribs and doesn't plan on sitting any time soon. Since he's content to play through the pain, it's unlikely Tate will be able to fully recover until next season.

Fantasy Analysis:

Tate will be a free agent next season and surely, that must have something to do with his desire to play while injured. The truth is, most savvy fantasy owners and hopefully all GMs already know what Tate is capable of as a runner. He's a great backup and could be a legit starter if given the opportunity. He's averaging 4.8 yards per carry this year and that's more or less aligned with his career average. He can also contribute as a pass-catcher out of the backfield. Given the frailty of RBs, it's only inevitable he will be a hot commodity next offseason.
