The New York Giants are on a bye in Week 9, but will be looking to get their backfield back in order for Week 10. Their running back coach Jerald Ingram told reporters that RB David Wilson will have his neck injury re-evaluated by doctors in the coming days. Ingram also said No. 2 back Andre Brown is expected to return in Week 10 against the Oakland Raiders. The Giants currently rank 29th in rushing yards per game (69.9 ypg).
After a 0-6 start, the Giants have a full blown winning streak on their hands with two straight wins against Minnesota and Philadelphia. You shouldn't book hotels for the playoffs as a Giants fan or anything, but getting Brown back can only help. Digging deep for Peyton Hillis and Brandon Jacobs really illustrates how the league may be pass heavy but you can't completely abandon a healthy running game. Although it'd also help if the Giants' offensive line were playing better. Brown has to be rostered as soon as possible if he returns and that would make both HIllis and Jacobs expendable. If Wilson returns, and that's a big if, you may want to let someone else take a chance on him.
