Since the Buccaneers have refused to rule running back Doug Martin out for the season while also not presenting a concrete timetable for his return, head coach Greg Schiano said the only thing he could say about Martin's future.
"Doug Martin will hopefully mend up and be able to play soon, but right now, he can't," Schiano said according to Scott Smith of the team's official website.
Martin has a torn shoulder labrum, and he's basically out indefinitely. One report last week stated that Martin will be out for a period between two-to-eight weeks. Unfortunately, the lack of certainty means you should hang on to Martin unless you are in a very shallow league. Mike James will continue to handle the majority of the carries while Brian Leonard gets on the field for third downs. James gained 64 yards on 14 touches in Week 8 versus the Panthers. He is a low-end RB2 for this week's game at Seattle.
