New England Patriots running back Shane Vereen practiced Wednesday for the first time since his wrist injury. He is eligible to return in Week 11. The Pats are on a bye in Week 10. Vereen should immediately reassume his previous role before injury in which he could play at least 50-percent of snaps in a split backfield with Stevan Ridley.
Snag Vereen if he's sitting on your waiver wire. He can be an instant starter for many teams, especially in PPR. The Patriots offense isn't playing up to its typical standards, but once Vereen returns, all their key pieces will be healthy. In New England's regular season opener, Vereen earned 21 touches for 159 total yards. He's coming back just in time to make a run at a playoff spot.
