Minnesota has finally announced their intent to start quarterback Christian Ponder in Week 9 against the Dallas Cowboys. The Vikings had delayed a possible decision in hopes that Josh Freeman would be healthy enough to play. Ponder didn't do a whole lot against Green Bay last week. He only passed for 145 yards and no TDs.
Ponder does have a favorable matchup here against a Dallas defense that can't seem to get out of its own way. Ponder is of course a risky start no matter who the opponent is though. Minnesota is getting minimal production from WRs Greg Jennings and Jerome Simpson and TE Kyle Rudolph is hardly the contributor he was last season. If you're looking to save some money in your daily fantasy league, Ponder has to be a very cheap option.
