Sources told ESPN that Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Justin Blackmon is headed to rehab. The league has not identified the nature of his substance abuse issues or of what variety. It's actually illegal for them to divulge that information. In any case, this is yet another problem in a long line of serious transgressions for the troubled wideout.
If you extrapolate his four 2013 games into a full season, Blackmon would have hypothetically finished with 116 receptions, 1660 yards and four TDs. It'll be interesting to see what Jacksonville opts to do with him. Blackmon's contract contained clauses where if he faced further league discipline, he could lose out on all his guaranteed money. Jacksonville could cut him now, if I'm understanding it right, and it would essentially void his contract and the Jags wouldn't be on the hook for anymore of his future salary. Good luck to Blackmon and hopefully he gets this problem straightened out.
