Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler doesn't plan on getting too comfortable on the bench. The former Vanderbilt QB wants to return to practice this week in preparation of a Week 10 return. With two weeks rest, Cutler wants to be ready for Detroit. Cutler sustained a groin injury in Week 7 against Washington. After their Week 8 bye, the Bears pulled out a big win against the Packers on Monday night.
The NFC North, excluding Minnesota, is neck-and-neck. Green Bay, Chicago and Detroit are all 5-3. Every divisional game from here on out means a lot. You can't blame Cutler for wanting to play as soon as possible. The concern of course is whether or not he is rushing his return. Cutler has been a mid-QB2 for most of the season, but Detroit has been a bit vulnerable against the pass recently. They've allowed eight TDs in their last three weeks. The unknown factor is whether or not the Bears are comfortable sticking with Josh McCown without rushing Cutler.
