Consider this another story of a veteran getting some extra rest late in the season even though it looks suspicious on the surface. Vikings running back Adrian Peterson didn't practice on Thursday or Friday and is listed as having a groin injury. However, he appears as "probable" on the injury report, and head coach Leslie Frazier said Friday that the multiple absences were a safety measure.
"We held him out to get him ready for Sunday," Frazier said of Peterson. "He should be ready to go. No concerns. ... It's more managing him. Not wanting to overextend him. He has a good feel for what we're doing game-plan wise so he should be fine when we get to Sunday."
I'm sure Peterson is aching, but he is going to suit up in Seattle, and you are certainly starting him per usual versus a good defense, but one that has shown some cracks in run defense recently. Remember that Zac Stacy and Mike James ran for more than 100 yards against the Seahawks.
