Colts won't change how they use RBs Trent Richardson, Donald Brown

On Thursday night, Colts running back Donald Brown @Donaldb31 gained 80 yards and two touchdowns on 14 carries, outclassing running mate Trent Richardson. But it doesn't seem like that performance earned Brown any extra carries going forward.
Head coach Chuck Pagano said Friday he likes "the way we're doing things right now." Pagano didn't dismiss possibly riding the "hot hand" in his backfield, but Richardson won't be forgotten all of a sudden.
Speaking of Richardson and his 3 yards per carry average, Pagano said he doesn't have many answers for his struggles.
"For whatever reason, like I said, we miss a block here or there and a guy is sitting there free in the hole," Pagano said of Richardson's runs. "It just happens to be that we just handed the ball to (number) 34, so it's nothing that he did. I don't know if he's snake bit. I don't know what the heck is going on."

Fantasy Analysis:

Yes, the blocking plays a role. But Richardson deserves a lot of blame for not often taking what is blocked or running hard to the hole. He looks fine after contact. It's between the snap and that first hit that he has looked consistently tentative. It's a lost season for the former stud.
A split backfield hurts the value of both players, but Brown should be favored over Richardson until further notice. Neither player will make for a quality flex start against a rugged Arizona run defense in the desert next week.
