During the Denver Broncos' win over Kansas City on Sunday, wide receiver Wes Welker suffered a concussion on a sizable pass play. After the hit, Welker went down on one knee to collect himself. He ended up making one more reception before being forced out of the game. His day ended with eight receptions for 72 yards.
Welker is now at-risk of missing his next game and that happens to be against his former club, the New England Patriots. While it makes for a great storyline, fantasy owners' larger concerns should be that the former Texas Tech receiver only has one touchdown in his last four games after starting the season with eight TDs in his first six contests. Welker remains a must-start every week as long as he's able to play, but he's chosen a critical time of year to begin a cold streak. Guys like WRs Demaryius Thomas and Eric Decker would likely see a huge boost if Welker is unable to play, in addition to TE Julius Thomas also being injured.
