ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter tweeted the San Francisco 49ers will play Michael Crabtree in Week 13 against the St. Louis Rams. It will be his first game since injuring his Achilles' tendon back in late May. He had immediate surgery at that time and was expected to miss six months. It's nearly been exactly six months, but this timeline was recommended as an absolute minimum.
San Francisco will more than likely ease him back into shape, but keep in mind that the 49ers are not locked into the playoffs just yet. They'll need to keep winning and Crabtree gives them a great chance to improve what has been a huge flaw in their passing attack. While he is a must-add now that he is back, fantasy owners should not consider starting Crabtree this week. We really don't know where he's at, how much he'll play and with all those unknown factors, you're taking on too much risk.
