The Broncos' explosive offense is preparing for a massive AFC West showdown in Kansas City against a Chiefs defense that has a couple of major injury concerns. That's something both teams have in common. Running back Knowshon Moreno didn't practice Wednesday because of bone bruise in his right leg. The good news is tight end Julius Thomas, who missed Sunday's loss to the Patriots because a strained knee, was on the practice field today.
Thomas should be good to go for this game and is a must-start, of course. Moreno is the much bigger question mark.
His bone bruise is apparently "significant," and I wouldn't be surprised if the team held him out of practice until at least Friday and deem him to be a game-time decision. So, if you haven't already done so, go pick up running back Montee Ball. The rookie who scored twice against the Chiefs in Week 11 would probably take on a significant workload if Moreno is ruled out. C.J. Anderson and Ronnie Hillman could also be involved to lesser degrees.
