It appears Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers didn't receive the worst news possible from a series of scans on his injured left collarbone Tuesday, but it must not have been all roses. Head coach Mike McCarthy said later in the day that Rodgers has not been ruled out of playing Sunday versus the Falcons, but he hasn't been cleared to play either. Rodgers has been cleared to practice, which he will do in limited fashion on Wednesday, but McCarthy said quarterback Matt Flynn will get the first-team snaps.
So you're saying there's a chance.
The smart money is on Rodgers sitting out his fifth game in a row with a return possible in Week 15. He said Tuesday that he wants to play again this season if he is healthy and will not allow himself to be shut down for the rest of the year if he can help the team. Flynn was simply atrocious against the Lions on Thanksgiving. He has a great matchup on paper versus the Falcons in Green Bay, but he severely limits this offense's potential. I don't mind starting Eddie Lacy and Jordy Nelson , but I wouldn't risk using their other skill players.
