It appears Stevan Ridley 's benching for back-to-back-to-back games with fumbles will last just one week. After being a healthy scratch in Week 13 versus the Texans, Ridley is expected to be active Sunday against the Browns, a source has told Nick Underhill of MassLive.com. Ridley has rushed for 576 yards and seven touchdowns in 10 games this season but has also lost four fumbles.
Underhill adds that Ridley's role in Sunday's game is unknown, and there's the rub. Shane Vereen is the only Patriots running back you can trust because of his common usage in the passing game. I expect Ridley to split carries with LeGarrette Blount and perhaps Brandon Bolden . Keep those three players out of your lineups this week. Right now, the Patriots' backfield is just one big jumble.
