Donald Brown hasn't done much since taking over as the Colts' starting running back in Week 13. He gained 131 total yards in three games. However, it should be noted that Brown was looking sharp in that third game before his afternoon was cut way short. Brown missed most of the first half and the entire second half versus the Texans on Sunday due to a stinger. Before exiting, he had rushed for 38 yards on just five carries. Head coach Chuck Pagano said Wednesday that Brown is day-to-day.
Trent Richardson -- remember him? -- filled in for Brown and put forth his trademark rushing performance: 19 carries, 64 yards, 3.4 yards per carry. However, he did catch a shovel pass to notch just his third touchdown as a Colt and his first since Week 4. The 23 touches and 102 total yards from Richardson look good on paper, but he will be only a flex option if Brown can't play this weekend at the Chiefs. His status should be updated in a couple of days.
