Report: Broncos WR Wes Welker won't play Sunday

You could have probably expected this news by Friday or Saturday considering Broncos wide receiver Wes Welker @WesWelker still hasn't been cleared to practice, but FOX Sports' Jay Glazer is giving everyone the scoop a day early: Welker will not play Sunday versus the Texans. He has done little to no football activity or exercise since suffering his concussion in Week 14. Andre Caldwell @caldwell87 will pick up more snaps in Welker's absence. He scored twice and saw a team-high last Thursday versus the Chargers

Fantasy Analysis:

If you are playing for your league's championship in Week 17, you shouldn't expect Welker to return then either. The Broncos shouldn't have much of a problem dispatching of the Texans and Raiders in the final two games of their regular season, which would lock up a first-round bye and allow them to give Welker a total of about five weeks to recover.
Although the Texans have allowed the sixth-fewest fantasy points to wide receivers, you should start all of the Denver regulars without hesitation. Caldwell is outside of that group, but after last week's performance, the large amount of targets, and the upside that a Peyton Manning-led attack gives to any offense, Caldwell is worth a shot as a WR3. However, understand the risk involved with a player who should be no higher than fourth or fifth in any passing offense.
