While the Broncos' record-setting offense grabs the headlines, the team has lost its best player on defense for a significant period of time. A Monday MRI confirmed that linebacker Von Miller tore the ACL in his right knee during Sunday's win over the Texans. According to the Denver Post's Mike Klis, it's believed that Miller's knee suffered no damage past the ACL, and "there is hope" that he will be ready to take part in at least some light practice once the Broncos open their 2014 training camp in late July.
Miller hasn't put up eye-popping numbers this year -- five sacks in nine games -- and the Broncos went undefeated while Miller served his six-game suspension at the start of the season. But he is a truly special athlete and a dynamic pass-rusher. The Broncos will surely miss him during the playoffs.
