Updating the positive signs from Packers practice earlier in the day, ESPN's Adam Schefter has reported that quarterback Aaron Rodgers will indeed start Sunday. The announcement was made during an afternoon press conference held by Green Bay head coach Mike McCarthy. McCarthy announced that Rodgers has been cleared and they will start him in their winner-take-all game agains divisional rival Chicago.
Rodgers has been practicing on a limited basis the past couple weeks, but had yet to be cleared by doctors, until today. He took first team reps in Thursday's practice, working with wide receivers Jordy Nelson , James Jones, and Randall Cobb .
If you own him and are playing in a league whose championship is week 17, feel free to use him. As reported earlier, the Bears defense gives up the 3rd most points and the 4th most total yards on the year. He has looked good in practice and the matchup is inviting!
This should also bolster all WR's in the Packers passing game. Let's be honest... Nelson has missed Rodgers as much as any WR has ever missed a QB. During the press conference, McCarthy also stated that he feels better about Cobb's status, but has not said anything definitive yet, as to his status for Sunday.
