The Denver Broncos, owners of the No. 1 seed in the AFC Playoffs, don't have a game for about two weeks. But one of their best offensive weapons will be ready to re-take the field with them when they kick off in the divisional round.
Wide receiver Wes Welker was finally cleared to play on Monday. He hasn't played since Dec. 8 because of a concussion -- his second in a four-week span -- although he was cleared to practice last week. Now he's been given the full green light.
Welker carries some risk because of the multiple brain injuries, and he wasn't exactly lighting up the stat sheet in the second half of the season. But he should be considered a top-10 fantasy WR in playoff leagues since he is a critical cog on a team that is favored to go deep into January (and perhaps into February). You know Peyton Manning will make a point to find Welker early and often during the playoffs after being without him for more than a month.
