UPDATE: Panthers WR Steve Smith actually comes out of Thursday's practice worse for wear

Panthers wide receiver Steve Smith did practice on Wednesday and Thursday, but things didn't go smoothly. Smith said today that he has suffered a setback with his injured left knee. Whereas he said he felt 71 percent healthy Wednesday, Smith dropped that number to 57 percent on Thursday. He sprained his left PCL in Week 16.

Fantasy Analysis:

If Smith can't go against the 49ers, Brandon LaFell @Blafell1 and Tedd Ginn would be Cam Newton's top two wideouts. And even if Smith does play, it's clear that he will have to fight through pain. This is bad news for the entire Panthers' offense, and Newton's divisional-round prospects should be downgraded with the likelihood that Smith is out on the field merely as a decoy.
