Browns wide receiver Davone Bess was arrested Friday morning at an airport in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. and charged with simple assault on an officer/firefighter/EMT, disorderly conduct, and resisting an officer without violence.
According to the arrest report, Bess was acting "irrationally" in one of the airport concourses and was stopped by law enforcement. Bess proceeded to pick up a cup of coffee that didn't belong to him and squeeze the cup until the liquid poured over the officer's uniform. And that's only the start of the story.
Update: Bess' problems run deeper past what happened this morning in Fort Lauderdale. Here's hoping he reaches out for the help he needs to get his life back on track.
Go ahead and read the full recap of today's events through the link below. It contains a shirtless Bess with pants falling down allegedly trying to fight the officer and appearing to be under the influence of ... something.
Bess caught 42 passes for 362 yards and two touchdowns in his first year as a member of the Browns. The 28-year-old wideout is signed through the 2016 season for about $9 million in salary. He has only minimal value in PPR leagues, and even that might be gone now.
