Detroit Lions showing interest in WR Golden Tate

Ian Rapoport @Rapsheet tweeted today that he hears the Lions are showing interest in free agent wide receiver Golden Tate @ShowtimeTate. The Seahawks may still retain Tate, but it seems the market it heating up for the Super Bowl Champion.

Fantasy Analysis:

The Lions have been trying to find the man to play on the other side of Megatron for years now. Ryan Broyles @RyanBroyles, Titus Young, Nate Burleson @Nate13Burleson, is Golden Tate next up? He's a strong, tough receiver who's not afraid to mix it up when it's his turn to block. He was also the Seahawks leading pass catcher, hauling in 64 receptions for 898 yards.

It's not clear if Detroit will end up with Tate, but it's likely they will try to fill the void on the other side of Calvin Johnson via free agency.

With the Seahawks locking up Michael Bennett to a four year 28.5 million dollar deal on Monday, it will be tough for Tate to remain in Seattle. Tate could be in line for as much as a five year 35 million dollar deal according to the Seattle Times.
