Sorry, Peyton Hillis. Raiders running back Rashad Jennings has some news via his own Twitter account:
"Flying to the Big Apple tonight! Looking forward to signing the dotted lines with Giants."
The exact amount of years and money that the Giants are giving Jennings is currently unknown.
Jennings, who turns 29 in a couple of weeks, became an attractive free-agent for a RB-needy team after putting up some of the best numbers of any running back over the second half of the 2013 season. Jennings averaged 116.5 yards per game over six games from Week 9 through Week 15. He added six touchdowns during that span.
Jennings had been a disappointment through his first few years in the league, but he showed more power and speed than I thought he actually had during his one year in Oakland. Jennings is a massive upgrade on what the Giants currently have at RB. That includes the currently rehabbing David Wilson , because his health is totally up in the air. If Wilson can come back healthy, which is hardly a guarantee following spinal fusion surgery, those two could create quite an interesting one-two punch. If Wilson needs more time, Jennings showed last season that he can carry the load. He met or topped 20 touches in four of his eight starts.
