A handful of TE2 types were signed Thursday

At least five tight ends signed contracts on Thursday, and there is plenty of time for that list to grow before the day is over. What do they all have in common? None of them are exceedingly interesting in fantasy. They all fall into the TE2 category to varying degrees.
The Packers re-signed Andrew Quarless to a two-year, $3 million contract.
The Texans gave Garrett Graham @gra89ham some significant coin: $11.25 million over three years.
The Bills agreed to terms with Scott Chandler @scottchandler84 on a two-year deal.
It sounds like a deal for Brandon Pettigrew from either the Jets, Lions or Raiders will come shortly.
Also, Jim Dray signed with the Browns, and Dante Rosario signed with the Bears. Both are known primarily as blockers.

Fantasy Analysis:

If I have to pick one, Quarless is the most captivating player of the bunch. Perhaps captivating is too strong of a word to use, but he looks like the favorite to replace Jermichael Finley @JermichaelF88 as the Packers' leading tight end. Quarless strung together a couple of nice box scores late last season, catching six passes for 66 yards and a touchdown in Weeks 14 and 15 each. Plus, there is upside with any tight end who gets a lot of playing time and sees his targets come from Aaron Rodgers. Quarless is only 25 years old.
Diagnosing the other guys is fairly simple: Chandler is stuck in cement and doesn't provide much fantasy value when he doesn't score. Pettigrew is a short-range TE who can't block; Graham will share time and numbers with teammate Ryan Griffin, who I think is the better fantasy pick of the two.
