ESPN's Chris Mortensen made it clear on Friday's SportsCenter that, more then twice, he has heard rumors the 49ers are looking to move up in the draft and "do somthing big."
According to many analysts including myself, the 49ers don't have the passing threats that they need to be competative in the new age NFL deep passing attack. The 49er wideout core today is comprised Anquan Boldin, Michael Crabtree then....... Jon Baldwin?
The 49ers need another threat in their passing scheme and soon to be rookies like WR Mike Evans from Texas A&M or WR Sammy Watkins from Clemson are definite commadaties to trade up for in the draft to make a splash not only on a NFL roster but our fantasy rosters. Look for both players to make an immediate impact week 1 and be great mid-round selections. Both possess WR1 talent but should be drafted conservatively as a WR2-3 as with many rookie wideouts. Already off the board for early drafters Sammy Watkins has a ADP of 65.4 (5th rnd selection) and Mike Evans 95.5 (7th-8th rnd selection).
