With Josh Gordon likely facing a long suspension, Nate Burleson nursing a broken arm (again), and Travis Benjamin headed for the PUP list once training camp opens following November ACL surgery, the Browns needed help at wide receiver. They picked up a small dose of help Wednesday with the signing of former Bears wideout Earl Bennett. Bennett, who was released by the Bears in March, has averaged 28 receptions and 333 yards per season since the start of 2011.
It's a veteran depth add by a team that is running low on proven receivers at the moment. Bennett is only 27 years old, but he has never really had legit fantasy value outside of some spare weeks in 2009 and 2010. I assume the Browns will give Bennett more time to compete for a roster spot than they gave Vince Young, but he is still off the fantasy radar.
