Running back Ryan Williams has been in the NFL since 2011, and injuries have wrecked his career. A torn patellar tendon wiped out his rookie season before it even started. A shoulder injury limited him to just five games in 2012, and then Williams was a healthy scratch for all of last season. Williams is looking to for a fresh start in 2014, and he'll try to get it with the Cowboys. Williams wrote on Twitter on Saturday that he will be joining the Cowboys just a few days after being released by the Cardinals.
I loved this kid coming out of the 2011 draft, but the facts are he has been sabotaged by his own body. And it's not a great endorsement when a team whose lead running back is Rashard Mendenhall decides not to play you even when you are healthy. Williams will compete against the likes of Lance Dunbar and Joseph Randle for a job backing up DeMarco Murray . He is far, far away from having any fantasy value.
