I'll just let this quote from Cowboys play-caller Scott Linehan breathe before I say anything else:
"Things that were done last year in the running game with DeMarco (Murray), the running style that was created here is really a good fit," Linehan said in a recent radio interview. "That's going to be our strength, being able to lean on that running game a little bit more than they have in the past."
That man cannot be Scott Linehan! Where is Scott Linehan and what have you done with him!?
This is a man who coordinated a Lions offense that set an NFL record with 740 passing attempts in 2012. During Linehan's five-year stint as Detroit's OC, the team ranked in the top six of that category every season. And Linehan stayed true to his philosophy even when the likes of Shaun Hill and Daunte Culpepper were taking a lot of snaps. So, if you are a DeMarco Murray fan or own him in a dynasty league, make sure you realize that Linehan's is likely paying some lip service here. When it's time to perform, Linehan is going to draw up plays to throw it and throw it deep a wide majority of the time.
