In case you've been living under a rock for the past couple of months, you know the Browns have a problem at wide receiver.
Josh Gordon 's suspension, which will probably be handed down soon, is expected to cost him the entire season. Behind him, the Browns' top wideouts are Andrew Hawkins , the perennially gimpy Miles Austin , and soon-to-be-33-year-old Nate Burleson . Is anyone going to come up from the depths to give this group a boost? Tony Grossi of ESPN Cleveland was asked on Twitter today if he saw any "diamonds in the rough" during OTAs and minicamp.
Grossi's response: "Maybe Chandler Jones."
What a confident endorsement.
Jones is a diminutive speedster from San Jose State. He was an offensive record-setter in college and signed in May as an undrafted free agent. He has sub-4.4 wheels, but he's basically a poor man's version of Hawkins. The Browns' receiving corps is as unsettled a group as there is in the league, but Jones has a tall hill to climb to be worth anything more than a deep dynasty stash.
