Patriots' beat writer Eric Frenz from Boston.com believes running backs Brandon Bolden , Jonas Grey and Stephen Houston are projected to be cut. Mentioning Bolden is significant as last season he had the third-most carries behind LeGarrette Blount who is now gone to the Steelers. Bolden also had the second-most receptions for the Patriots backfield. Rookie James White would most likely assume a similar role if Bolden were to be cut.
If Bolden doesn't make the 53-man roster, it creates a huge boost in value for Stevan Ridley, Shane Vereen and White. If Ridley can correct his fumbling issues, he could become a solid RB2 especially if he resumes a goal-line role. If he can't, the sure-handed White would assume a good portion of New England's rushing attempts, while Vereen would shine the Patriots' featured back.
