Head Coach Mike Tomlin of the Pittsburgh Steelers has been more than impressed with second year running back Le'Veon Bell. "Le'Veon has had a great offseason," Tomlin said. "He's really shown that he is excited about taking the next step, particularly from a conditioning standpoint." Coming off a rookie season which saw him play in 13 games, rushing for 860 yards and catching 45 balls for an additional 399 yards, while tacking on eight touchdowns, Bell is primed to be a top flight back in year two.
The Steelers signed LeGarrette Blount in the offseason. Despite his back-to-back games of a combined 355 yards and six touchdowns in Week 17 and the first weekend of the playoffs last season, Blount is strictly a backup in Pittsburgh. The show is Bell's to steal and it appears fantasy junkies who've already starting drafting are buying in. His ADP of 18.00 shows him to be a solid 2nd round pick, at the latest!! In a recent FFWC Draft-n-Go I participated in, Bell was the sixth back off the board, going seventh overall.
After the top three (LeSean McCoy, Jamaal Charles, and Matt Forte-in any order), Bell enters the conversation as the next best RB, along with the likes of Adrian Peterson, Eddie Lacy, Giovanni Bernard and a few others. If you're drafting anywhere from No. 4 to No. 12 in your upcoming drafts and you get Bell as your RB1, you're in good shape. We have him projected for 277 points this year... solid production by anyones' standards.
