The free agent TE Finley, who suffered a season-ending spinal contusion last year, will undergo medical testing Wednesday to hep determine his fitness to play this season, with results to be sent to all 32 NFL franchises. Finley has been working out, and has reportedly visted the Seahawks and Patriots, in addition to his former Packers team. The Steelers have also expressed interest in Finley, who caught 25 balls for 300 yards and three TDs in six games last season.
Finley's injury was one of the scariest of the 2013 season. He was confined to a hospital bed, unable to walk, for several days after the hit. Many speculated that his career was over, so it's heartening (if a little frightening) to see him attempting a comeback. RIght now, the Packers seem to be the most likely destination, since Finley knows the system, the organization and QB Aaron Rodgers so well. If he is indeed able to return, he'll be something of a wild card in fantasy drafts. But with his considerable upside, it's not difficult to imagine Finley returning to top ten TE status this season.
