Eagles wide receiver Jeremy Maclin missed all of last season after tearing his right ACL early in training camp. He shared a unique perspective on that major injury last weekend, saying that tearing his ACL for the second time has actually made him better.
"In some ways, I feel faster," Maclin told Philly.com on Saturday. "In some ways, I feel more fresh, more physically strong. I just think you put so much hard work into your rehab process that that's kind of what happens. You get that leg back. You build that leg back stronger."
Maclin's leg has been healed and ready for go for a while as he participated in Philly's entire offseason program. He enters his sixth season as the Eagles' assumed No. 1 and looking for his first 1,000-yard campaign. Even with DeSean Jackson gone, I'm not sure Maclin will reach that plateau. Chip Kelly loves to run the ball and spread it around. Plus, Maclin has made it through 16 games only once in his career. I think he will lead this receiving corps in yardage, but I wouldn't draft him as more than a WR3. If I had to own an Eagles receiver, taking draft position and upside into account, it would be tight end Zach Ertz .
