49ers tight end Vernon Davis skipped all offseason workouts and has openly hinted at holding out of training camp to get a new contract. Well, tomorrow is the day we find out how committed he is to his cause as 49ers veterans are scheduled to report. And ESPN 49ers reporter Bill Williamson is expecting Davis to be with his teammates.
"it wouldn't be shock if Davis reports because that 30 [thousand] daily fine could be deemed not worth the fight," Williamson wrote on Twitter. "Davis has already said it wouldn't be end of the world if he doesn't get new deal. Bottom line is Davis has wavered more than once in this holdout. No report result tomorrow would be a big surprise."
Of course, this comes a week after another 49ers writer said there are indications that Davis' holdout will extend into camp. As with Jamaal Charles, we'll have our answer on Wednesday. Davis is currently ranked as FFToolbox's No. 6 TE.
