Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski avoids PUP list

Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski avoids PUP list

Gronkowski will be ready for the start of camp, and will not be placed on the PUP list, acccording to Gronkowski has been recovering from a torn ACL suffered last season. Previously there had been some concern that the Patriots would hold their top TE out of early camp activities, but that will not be the case. Gronkowski said recently he expects to play all 16 games this year, which would be his first full season since 2011.

Fantasy Analysis:

This is good news for Gronkowski and his potential fantasy owners, as it speaks to the Patriots confidence in his full recovery. If Gronkowski is healthy for every game this year, he has a strong chance to challenge Saints TE Jimmy Graham @TheJimmyGraham for the top fantasy tight end spot. Patriots QB Tom Brady also stands to benefit from Gronk's return - his stats are massively better when the big TE is on the field. Given his extensive injury history, owners would do well to show a bit of caution when drafting Gronkowski, but at this point, it looks like all systems are go to start the season.
