Wayne has passed a physical and been cleared for camp, according to Colts reporter Kevin Bowen. Wayne has been recovering from a torn ACL suffered against the Broncos last year. The 35-year old WR will rejoin a Colts passing attack that includes WR T.Y. Hilton and newly acquired WR Hakeem Nicks. Before his injury last year, Wayne caught 38 balls for 503 yards and three touchdowns in just seven games.
While this news was expected, it's good to have it confirmed that Wayne is 100% and ready for camp. Strange as it is to say, Wayne has tremendous sleeper potential this year. Torn knee ligaments are no longer the career-ending injury they used to be, and even though he's aging, Wayne appeared to have quite a bit left in the tank last season. At his current draft position of 42nd WR, Wayne would be a solid addition to most teams.
