UPDATE: Browns RB Terrance West put on non-football injury list, will practice Friday

Update: Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer says via a source that West will be practice Friday despite today's placement on the NFI. The Browns' first full-squad practice is Saturday. This looks to be much ado about nothing.

Browns rookies are scheduled to arrive at training camp today, but third-round running back Terrance West won't see the field for an undetermined amount of time. Cleveland has placed West on the non-football injury list. The reason why is currently unknown. He will be given an opportunity to start in what head coach Mike Pettine thinks might be the best competition of camp.

Fantasy Analysis:

Tate will open camp as the No. 1 RB, but his lead will be slim as long as West doesn't miss an extended period of time. The winner will still have to share carries with the other, but West is the better value pick right now as he is being drafted more than two rounds after Tate on average. He reminds some of Alfred Morris, the Redskins' running back who had so much success as a rookie under offensive coordinator Mike Shanahan. Of course, Shanahan is now the OC in Cleveland.
