Lions wide receiver Golden Tate began training camp on the Physically Unable to Perform List, but as expected, he didn't stay there long. The Lions activated Tate, and he took part in his first practice with his new team Monday. Tate landed on the list after landing on his shoulder awkwardly during OTAs in May.
Tate's average draft position sits in the mid-to-late 30s among wide receivers. However, this is a very quick player who gained more than 900 yards and scored five times in the league's most conservative offense last season. Now he's in an offense that will throw it MUCH more often and is teamed with Matthew Stafford and Calvin Johnson. I think a season without 1,000 yards would be a disappointment for Tate. I'd love to have him as my WR3.
