Wilson is undergoing tests after sustaining a "burner" in his surgically repaired neck during Tuesday's practice, according to NFL Network's Kimberly Jones. Wilson missed 11 games last year after suffering a serious neck injury that had many questioning his ability to ever return to the field. Wilson was cleared last week to participate in camp, but only made it through a few days of practices before this problem flared up.
Any news about WIlson's neck is bad news. As Jones notes in her tweet, the Giants "will be careful" with WIlson. That is, if there's any chance to seriously aggravate this frightening injury, WIlson won't see the field. This development provides a fairly strong bump in value for Giants RB Rashad Jennings , who now looks likely to serve as a three-down back for the team. Wilson should not be drafted except in the deepest of leagues until he proves that he is healthy enough to get through training camp, let alone an NFL regular season.
